Crab Apples

Crab apples are perfect to plant to create interest and provide a bit of wow factor.  With show stopping blossom, striking foliage and interesting fruits that can range from the ombre-coloured, pear drop like fruits of the John Downie to the golden apples of Butterball and everything in-between!  Crab apples are for the most part useful pollinators of other Malus (apple) varieties and not to mention the diversity of wildlife they will attract.  Did we mention that many varieties also make a delicious crab apple jelly!
